Coprophilia

Coprophilia

Coprophilia is when a person is sexually aroused by feces. The arousal may stem from the incorporation of feces into sex play, but may also occur during times that could be considered non-sexual as well.  The following is a non-exhaustive list of times at which a person may be aroused due to contact with fecal matter:
·        While having a bowel movement.
·        While watching another person have a bowel movement.
·        While hearing a bowel movement.
·        Touching, tasting, seeing and/or smelling feces.

A Note On The —Philia Suffix
The —philia suffix means that something particular must be present in order for sexual arousal to occur.  Despite this very specific meaning, philias are sometimes associated with criminality.  Although some philias may result in criminal or harmful activities, others are expressed in ways that are harmless and law-abiding.  Additionally, it is important to note that while some philias originate in mental disorder or childhood trauma, not all philias derive from these phenomena.
