Rick is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC), Certified Sexual Addiction Therapist (CSAT), and National Certified Counselor (NCC). Rick has over 22 years of experience providing both mental health and addiction treatment. He specializes in treating individuals, young adults, seniors and couples dealing with issues related to sex and love addiction, codependency, and sexual function / dysfunction. Rick is also skilled in providing relationship counseling; including helping people establish healthier levels of intimacy both in and out of partnerships. Additionally, he works with clients struggling with anger, mood disorders, men’s issues, narcissism, shame and life adjustments.
Rick has developed psycho-educational workshops, specialized counseling groups, and is a creative clinician in terms of some of the therapeutic interventions he utilizes to help clients reach their goals. Rick primarily utilizes the following clinical approaches in his work with clients: cognitive-behavioral, motivational enhancement, psychodynamic, and experiential methods. Rick also has extensive experience with the Twelve-step philosophy of recovery.
In 2014, Rick was awarded the Betty J. McDonough Treatment Award by the Council on Chemical Abuse in Berks County, Pennsylvania. This honor recognized Rick’s compassion and commitment in helping individuals who suffer from the disease of addiction.
