Spermicides And Birth Defects

Question: Can spermicides cause birth defects?

Answer: False. Spermicides and birth defects are not connected to each other.

With that being said, given that the two of you are pregnant, even if lubrication is needed, spermicides are not.  Spermicides are designed to diminish the risk of the woman getting pregnant – and clearly, the woman is already pregnant.  Thus, I suggest that the two of you switch to a water based lubricant, like KY Jelly or Astroglide.  The good news is that even if you have lingering doubts about Spermicides and birth defects, at least you now can stop using spermicides in peace.  You are pregnant and are about to embark upon a totally different journey. The journey of parenthood. Not spermicides and birth defects 🙂
