Aimee Wood, Sex Therapist and Marriage Counselor in Center City Philadelphia PA Aimee Wood, a licensed social worker, specializes in relationship issues, grief and loss, trauma, anxiety, depression and sexual function & dysfunction.

Aimee has worked within the legal system with homicidal grief and loss, families in crisis and in-home hospice. She has experience working with individuals with anxiety, couples struggling with communication, and sexual dysfunction such as sexual trauma and sex addiction. She works from a systems perspective, focusing on the impact of family of origin and environmental factors on the individual(s). She provides a strengths-based approach, encouraging empowerment and identifying positive factors.

Aimee received her B.S. in Counseling and Human Services from The University of Scranton and her MSW from Temple. During this time, she co-facilitated a support group entitled "coping through the holidays" which provided support for individuals mourning the recent loss of a loved one. Aimee provided in-home counseling and advocacy for hospice patients and their families. Aimee continued to work with the bereaved as a court-advocate for families of murder victims, associated with the Homicide Unit and District Attorney's office of Philadelphia. While providing court advocacy, she and co-facilitated a support group for homicidal grief and loss. Following this, she provided in-home therapy and intervention to families in crisis. In 2010, she earned a post graduate certificate in Couples and Family Therapy with a concentration in Sex Therapy from Council for Relationships. During her time at CFR she worked with various issues including families in conflict, couples in transition, sexual problems, mood and anxiety disorders. In the fall of 2010 she became a Licensed Social Worker (LSW), and began working at The Center for Growth.
