Coitus Interruptus
Another term for the “pull out” or “withdraw” technique. Two partners engage in coitus (“intercourse”) but the male “pulls out” before semen can be ejaculated into the vagina. Many medical experts view this as an ineffective method of birth control, which has been used for over 2,000 years by couples. The failure rate (as defined by number of pregnancies, is very high.
In modern day, thanks to science, there are many different types of effective birth control. For example: the pill, condoms, IUD, and the sponge.
